Francine Raveney is the founder and former Director of the European Women’s Audiovisual Network, where she oversaw research, training and networking. She currently works at the Eurimages film fund where she specializes in gender equality and co-productions and oversaw the adoption of the first ever pan-European recommendation on gender equality in the audiovisual sector. She regularly teaches at such schools as Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, and works as a consultant and on juries at film festivals.
Francine Raveney studied French and English Literature at the Queen’s College, Oxford University, followed by Women’s Studies also at Oxford, and subsequently received the Entente Cordiale scholarship to study politics and literature at Strasbourg University. She has worked as a managing editor for the UN and the Council of Europe and also as a campaigns/communication manager on anti-discrimination campaigns. Raveney attended the EAVE Producers Workshop in 2010.
